Girl's Bedroom: Painted Flowers

I painted this mural over 2 years ago, but I finally took pictures last month

This is my niece's bedroom... my sister picked out the most gorgeous bedding and I painted flowers to coordinate

I tried to make each flower different... it was time comsuming, but I love the hand-painted, folk art vibe the wall creates.  The rest of the walls and ceiling were painted in lighter shades of purple... you can see a tiny bit of the other walls in this pic.

For the swirls and stems, I used the biggest brush I could get away with.  If you're looking for a tutorial on how to use a bigger brush, check out this tricks of the trade post.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I plan on posting more about painting in the weeks to come... see you again soon!

Blessings,
Jamie

  30. You've got mad painting skills, so you don't need it, but I just discovered (through Pinterest, of course) that you can iron fabric onto the wall. Not as cute as your wall, but it has a lot of potential!
